The Project
The Solidarity Call Center project stems from an idea by Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe of Naples, the nonprofit organization *In nome della vita Onlus*, Sergio Sciarelli, full professor of Economics and Business Management atthe University of Naples Federico II, and other distinguished members of Neapolitan civil society.
It was carried out with the support of the Vodafone Italia Foundation and was conceived as a collaborative effort involving all shelters, nonprofit organizations, and public and private assistance agencies in the Campania region. The project provides a concrete response to the growing social problems affecting families and individuals in need, directly and more effectively combating the many forms of poverty that are becoming increasingly widespread in our society.
By calling the toll-free number 800814081, you can request a solution, advice, or an answer to the many everyday problems you may face.
VMEngine Support
Following structural work on the electrical and network cabling in the areas designated for the call center, a rack was installed to house allthe necessary hardware: from telephone equipment to routers, gateways, servers, and the UPS unit.
An ESXi hypervisor was installed on the Intel server to facilitate installation, backup, and recovery operations by leveraging virtualization capabilities. A combination of open-source and licensed proprietary technologies was used.
The following operating systems were used:
CentOS distributions
Asterisk PBX software
xCally software for call center management
vTiger CRM for collecting data related to support requests
WordPress CMS for the geolocation database of service centers in the Campania region
The activities we carried out were:
Design and Planning of the Hardware/Software Solution
Implementation of the Hardware/Software Solution
Ongoing assistance and support for the solution
Support for the design and planning of future expansions of the project
